Mission Statement of Nicholson Baptist Church
Nicholson Baptist Church will preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to
this area. This will be done through the church in all of its gatherings.
We desire to see people come to know Christ, be discipled and trained
in evangelism.
Core Values of Our Church
- Biblical teaching is a value of Nicholson Baptist Church.
As the church grows numerically, it is important for Christians
to mature in the Word of God. From the pulpit and in every class,
the Bible will be used to bring forth the truth of God. (1 Tim.
4:16 and 2 Tim. 3:16)
- Fellowship is a value of Nicholson Baptist Church.
Fellowship should be an ongoing part of the ministry of the church.
The congregation, Sunday School classes, small groups, and any other
ministries in the church function better when fellowship is enjoyed.
(Acts 2:42-47)
- Worship is a value of Nicholson Baptist Church. The
church sees worship as a part of encouragement that is needed to
show the different functions of the church together. (Psalm 100:3
and Eph. 5:18, 19)
- Prayer is a value of Nicholson Baptist Church. Experience
has shown prayer to be the key to success in the work of the church.
On Wednesday night, prayers will be lifted up to God on behalf of
the sick, bereaved, for church services, etc. These prayers and
others have brought forth tremendous blessings from God. (Acts 4:29-3l
and James 5:16)
- Evangelism is a value of Nicholson Baptist Church.
Evangelistic endeavors can never stop at the church. In the past
focus has been placed on special programs and individual witness
to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In the
future, crusades, missions, and other evangelistic thrusts will
be made to see people come to Christ (Acts 1:8 and 2 Tim. 1:9)
- Individual Christian ministry is a value of Nicholson
Baptist Church. The church is gifted for every person to serve in
some capacity. The staff will never be looked at as hired ministers,
but they are in place to encourage the laity to minister to the
needs of the congregation and community. (1 Cor. 12:4 - 7 and Eph.
4:11, 12)
- Creativity is an aspiration of Nicholson Baptist Church.
The culture around the church is always changing. These changes
will require creativity to stay at the forefront of our means to
reach people for Christ. Small groups, different kinds of services,
and meeting times will stretch the church and test its willingness
to be creative and not compromise other values. (Matt 28:18-20 and
1 Cor. 9:22-23)
- Crisis development is an aspiration of Nicholson Baptist
Church. Crisises will arise among people in the church and in the
church organization. Through long-range planning and ministries
built on knowledge of crisis operations, the church can function
through the storms of life and minister effectively during these
times. (2 Cor. 4:16-18)
